We are looking for a Creative Director with strong visual instincts who can lead the work at a high level and guide it to where it needs to go. Someone who can originate ideas, shape the creative direction, and elevate both the thinking and the craft across every project.
This role leads creative across several accounts and works closely with our creative leadership and account teams to push the work forward. The right candidate will own the visual direction, help shape storytelling and copy, mentor designers, and consistently raise the bar for the entire team.
You should still enjoy making the work, but more importantly, know how to lead it.
You should have a strong design background and a sharp eye for craft. You should also enjoy mentoring other creatives and helping younger designers level up. Humdinger is a collaborative studio with small tight knit teams, so the ability to work independently while moving ideas forward with others is essential.
This is not a management only role. We are looking for someone who still enjoys ideation, experimentation, and building great work.
Please provide a portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual thinking along with exceptional use of design, typography, color, imagery, motion, and visual storytelling across web, campaign, digital, and video work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Co-Lead creative direction across multiple client accounts, helping shape ideas and guide the work from concept through execution.
• Own the visual direction of projects and ensure a high level of craft across design, motion, and digital experiences.
• Collaborate with writers, designers, motion artists, strategists, and account teams to develop clear and compelling creative ideas.
• Mentor and guide designers and other creatives, helping elevate both the thinking and the craft of the work.
• Work closely with account teams to ensure the creative solves the right problem and aligns with the goals of the brief.
• Present creative concepts internally and externally, clearly articulating the thinking behind the work.
• Push the work until it is great.
EXPERIENCE
• 7 to 10 years of advertising or design agency experience
• Strong communication skills and confidence presenting ideas to clients and internal teams
• Strong design background with a clear point of view on visual storytelling.
• Demonstrated ability to develop ideas and carry them through to execution.
• Comfortable guiding both visual and verbal creative direction.
• Experience mentoring designers and guiding creative teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and move ideas forward in a fast moving studio environment.
AI AND EMERGING CREATIVE TOOLS

Familiarity with AI image generation and emerging creative tools is required. You don’t need to be a power user, but you should understand their role in modern creative workflows and be comfortable working in a team that uses them as part of the process.
