MOTION DESIGNER

WHO LOVES MOTION DESIGN, ANIMATION, FX & STORYTELLING

Humdinger Studio is looking for a Motion Designer to join our creative team in Minneapolis.

You’ll concept and execute motion design across a wide spectrum of brands and mediums. From leading-edge consumer technology to next-generation software platforms, you’ll use animation, FX, design, and emerging AI tools to bring ideas to life in smart and unexpected ways.

This role calls for someone with a strong design sense, a love for visual storytelling, and genuine hands-on experience exploring how generative AI is changing motion and video production. You should be excited about combining traditional craft with tools like Runway, Veo, Higgsfield, Kling, Luma, and whatever comes next.

We’re not looking for someone who simply knows how to generate a clip. We’re looking for a creative thinker who can recognize a strong idea, establish a visual direction, guide AI-generated content toward a specific result, and finish the work with the craft and attention to detail our clients expect.

You’ll take a creative approach to a range of video and motion projects, including online videos, social content, product demos, tutorials, interface animations, visual effects, and 3D work. You should be curious, adaptable, and eager to help us discover where these rapidly evolving tools can make the work better.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Animate product demos, promos, explainers, UI motion, and more

• Design frames, storyboards, and motion concepts

• Bring creative ideas to life through smart, effective animation

• Explore AI-assisted motion tools and help us apply them to real client work

• Work with editors, designers, and 3D artists as part of a tight creative team

• Keep up with trends in motion, design, and creative technology

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 to 6 years of experience in professional motion design

• Strong portfolio with polished, expressive animation work

• Comfort working independently and managing your own time

• Excellent skills in Adobe After Effects

• Experience with 3D workflows, especially Cinema 4D, is a big plus

• Familiarity with AI motion tools or an interest in exploring them

• Strong attention to detail and a high creative bar

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor's degree and/or related experience in an art or design-related field

Bonus Round

• Shooting, directing, and editing experience

• Audio design and mastering

• Experience building AI-assisted production workflows for real brand or client work

• Familiarity with custom models, image-to-video workflows, character consistency, lip-sync, voice generation, or AI-assisted compositing
